This weekend, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal celebrated their engagement with a ceremony at the picturesque Lake Como. The double celebrations at the Ambani household started in March this year when Isha’s twin brother Akash Ambani proposed to Shloka Mehta in Goa. A couple of months later, Anand proposed to Isha at a temple in Mahabaleshwar. Both the proposals were followed by star-studded events at the Ambani residence, Antilia. The guest list included Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas among others.
The celebrations at Lake Como started on Friday, where the first guests seen in attendance were the other newly engaged couple – Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. Nick chose an embroidered black sherwani from Manish Malhotra for the occasion. He layered it over a long kurta and paired it with a churidar and black dress shoes. Aanil Kapoor posted a picture on his Instagram account with the scenic lake behind him. The actor went the complete black-tie route – head-to-toe black with a bow-tie. On the other hand, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja were seen chilling on a boat. Anand wore a traditional bandhgala. And Manish Malhotra arrived on a private jet with the Natasha and Adar Poonawalla. Other guests included Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.
The 3-day event kickstarted with a ring ceremony where the father of the to-be bride, Mukesh Ambani, was seen walking Isha Ambani down the aisle. Anand Piramal chose an embroidered green sherwani for the occasion.
Isha Ambani, who is engaged to industrialist Ajay Piramal's son Anand Piramal, was seen participating in the pre-wedding celebrations with great gusto. The bride and the groom's families, as well as 'who's who' of the Indian film industry all performed during the functions, which have been the talk of the town since the past few days. Global popstar sensation Beyonce also gave an awe-inspiring singing and dance performance during one of the functions. Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's pre-wedding events also made headlines due to the presence of former American First Lady Hillary Clinton, who flew in to the country, just for the high-profile parties. Even as pictures and videos from the sangeet and phool holi ceremonies at Uday Vilas Palace continue to emerge, a photo of the delicious treats being served at the functions has appeared.
Bollywood paparazzo Viral Bhayani, who has been posting a number of pictures and videos from the functions, posted a picture of the dessert counter at the Ambani-Piramal pre-wedding functions. The uber colourful dessert counter looks like a wonderland for sweet lovers, with all kinds of sweet meats and desserts adorning it. The picture shows a whole lot of assorted berries and fruits covered in different kinds of chocolates. The sheer range of options seen at the dessert counter has made us wonder the kind of food that will be offered to the guests at the wedding!
