Sanchita Shetty
Sanchita Shetty is a movie actress who works predominantly in South Indian cinema, mainly in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films. She featured in a string of supporting roles, but got her breakthrough with a significant role in the 2013 Vijay Sethupathi starrer Soodhu Kavvum. Her other notable roles were seen in movies such as Thillalangadi, Pizza II: Villa, and Badmaash.

EARLY LIFE
Sanchita was born in 1989 in Karnataka, and her mother tongue is Tulu. She graduated in Bachelor of Commerce.

MOVIE CAREER
Sanchita debuted in the film industry with the Kannada musical romance movie Mungaru Male (2006), directed by Yogaraj Bhat, alongside Ganesh, Pooja Gandhi, and Anant Nag. She played the female lead Pooja Gandhi`s friend in the movie, which enjoyed huge box-office collections and was also one of the longest running films at a multiplex. Sanchita appeared in another smaller role in the Kannada film Milana (2007) that once again starred Pooja Gandhi in the lead opposite Puneeth Rajkumar and Parvathy. She was then cast by director Shashank Raj in the 2009 Kannada movie Uda opposite Yuvaraj and Nisha Shetty. Later in the year, she worked in Vemagal Jagannatha Rao`s horror movie Bhaya.com, which was considered to be one of Rao`s scariest films.

In the next year, she signed her first Tamil movie Azhukkan Azhagakiran, under the direction of Omesh Sekar, in the role of Reema. Her next appearance was in the same year in the action-comedy film Thillalangadi in the role of Ammu that starred Jayam Ravi, Shaam and Tamannaah in lead roles. It received mixed to positive reviews, and is a remake of the 2009 Telugu film Kick. She concluded 2012 by starring in the Telugu romantic dramedy Orange, under the direction of Bhaskar. The movie revolves around a boy who does not believe in long-lasting love, due to which his lover, with a completely opposite ideology leaves him. Then came Sanchita`s first lead role in the 2012 Tamil movie Kollaikaran, directed by Tamil Selvan, in which she starred opposite Vidharth, but the movie neither impressed audiences nor the critics.

Her next film was the Tamil black comedy Soodhu Kavvum, in which she played a pivotal role opposite Vijay Sethupathi. She portrayed the character of Vijay Sethupathi`s imaginary girlfriend in the film, and was appreciated for her one-liners. The movie was praised by critics and was a commercial success, making it one of the biggest successes of Sanchita`s career. In the same year, she was seen in Deepan Chakravarthy`s supernatural thriller movie Pizza II: Villa that starred her in the lead opposite Ashok Selvan, with Nassar in a pivotal role. The movie received positive critical acclaim from critics and praises from audiences, and was also dubbed in Telugu with the same name. Her next venture was a Kannada film Badmaash (2016), in which she played the female lead opposite Dhananjay, whereas Achyuth Kumar was seen in a significant role. The movie was a moderate success with average reviews.

In 2017, she was seen in the thriller film Ennodu Vilayadu, directed by Arun Krishnaswami, opposite Bharath and Kathir. The movie received mixed reviews from critics. Sanchita also starred in the horror film Rum alongside Hrishikesh and Vivek, and Ramu Chellappa`s Enkitta Mothathe co-starring Natarajan Subramaniam, Rajaji, and Parvathy Nair.
