Wamiqa Gabbi – Actress
Wamiqa Gabbi is one of the famous Indian film actress who acted in almost all Indian film industries. She is present in the industry from 2012.
Wamiqa was born and completed her education in Chandigarh. Her parents are Govardhan Gabbi, who is a Punjabi writer and Raj Kumari. She has a brother – Haardik, who is a young Musician and also an actor. During her childhood she wished to be an actor and now she became a known actress and had appeared so many films in different industries. Her strong determination and hard working mentality helped her to enter film industry. She is also a classical dancer and had participated many dance shows.
When she was eight years old she entered into mini screen through a Punjabi serial Saude Dillan De. Her dance shows make her more popular and selected for the film Jab We Met in a supporting role. From there she acted in so many films, she is also popular in south Indian film industry.
Acting Career
Wamiqa Gabbi made her debut in Bollywood through the film Bittoo Boss, directed by Supavitra Babul and which was released in 2012. In which she played a supporting role, that is the role of heroine’s friend and she had appeared in few sequences. On the next (2013) year she appeared in another film titled Sixteen, directed by Jawaz Farooq. In which she shared the screen with Izabelle Leite and Mehak Manwani. In this drama thriller film she played a lead character named Tanisha, her performance was excellent.
In 2013, she made her debut in Punjabi film industry through the film Tu mera 22 Main Tera 22, directed by Amit Prasher. In which she shared the screen with Amrinder Gill, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Mandy Takhar and which gives a perfect breakthrough in her acting career. She played a lead character named Mini and the character shot her to fame. In next 2 years she acted two Punjabi films – Ishq Brandy and Ishq Haazir Hai.
In 2015 Wamiqa made her debut in Telugu film industry through the film Bhale Manchi roju, directed by Sriram Adittya T. She played the lead character opposite to Tollywood actor Sudheer babu. Through this film she entered in to South indian industry. On the next year (2016), she debuted to Tamil industry through the film Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam. The romantic drama film is directed by Gitanjali Selvaraghavan and features Balakrishna Kola, Wamiqa and Parvathy Nair in the lead.
In 2017, she entered into Mollywood through the film Godha, directed by Basil Joseph. In which she shared the screen with youth star Tovino Thomas and Renji Panicker. The film is based on wrestling and Wamiqa played the role of Aditi Singh. In the same year she has committed to other two films Iravaakaalam (Tamil) and Nikka zaildar 2 (Punjabi).
